A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to non-existent email addresses under the exact same domain. For example, an email sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can receive messages from pals or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

In case you’ve got a website hosting with us and you want to enable the catch-all functionality for a certain email mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it will take literally just a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in the account. You can pick one address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all email messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you have enabled email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

You’ll be able to create a catch-all email address with no more than a click if you have a Linux semi-dedicated server with us and your email messages are handled by our cloud platform. All the mailboxes that you set up with any domain hosted in the semi-dedicated hosting account will be listed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a small "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to enable this functionality will be to click that icon. In the very same way you’ll be able to remove the feature, if you do not need it any longer. Our system will let you know if you are attempting to activate a second catch-all address for a particular domain or if there’s active email forwarding, but it will never deactivate or change any feature automatically and without your approval.
